What to expect at each grade level
Co-Ed Kindergarten Lacrosse Clinic
Our Co-Ed Kindergarten Lacrosse Clinic is designed to engage and educate our youngest players while having fun! Basic fundamental skills like scooping ground balls, cradling, shooting, passing and catching will be taught. We have volunteer coaches who work with our Carmel High School players and Carmel lacrosse alumni to instruct our players. We always welcome parent volunteers to help coach.
- 1x a week, 1-hr Co-Ed K Clinic at CHS Turf or Camarda Park
- No equipment necessary!
- Equipment provided by CRYLAX: loaner stick and Carmel lacrosse reversible pinnie that is yours to keep
1st - 2nd Grade Lacrosse Teams
1st - 2nd graders who participate in either the boys or girls team will focus on basic fundamentals and learn some rules of the game. They will also be introduced to the different field positions while scrimmaging each other. We may schedule 3-5 instructional games with neighboring town teams. Our ability to play games will depend on the number of coaches and players available. The 1st / 2nd grade teams may attend one tournament. We have volunteer coaches who work with our Carmel High School players and Carmel lacrosse alumni to instruct on game fundamentals. We always welcome parent volunteers to help coach.
1st - 2nd Grade Girls Team
- 1x a week for 1-hr at CHS Turf or Camarda Park - Our ability to add a 2nd weekly practice depends on our volunteers
- Inter-team scrimmages, 3-5 instructional games with neighboring town teams
- An additional practice day may be added during the week later in the season
- Loaner Equipment provided by CRYLAX: lacrosse stick if needed
- CRYLAX will also provide a sublimated Carmel lacrosse reversible jersey that is yours to keep
- Equipment provided by parents: protective eyewear and mouthpiece
1st - 2nd Grade Boys Team
- 1x a week for 1-hr at CHS Turf or Camarda Park - Our ability to add a 2nd weekly practice depends on our volunteers
- Inter-team scrimmages, 3-5 instructional games with neighboring town teams
- An additional practice day may be added during the week later in the season
- Loaner Equipment provided by CRYLAX: lacrosse stick, helmet
- CRYLAX will also provide a sublimated Carmel lacrosse reversible jersey that is yours to keep
- Equipment provided by parents: mouthpiece, arm guards, protective cup, shoulder pads (new rule NOCSAE standard), gloves
3/4 Teams
The main focus of our 3rd/4th grade teams is a continued emphasis on game fundamentals. Players will learn more advanced skills and drills while practicing at each position. This group of players will experience practices, officiated games against neighboring towns and two tournaments. Games are usually played on reduced size fields, playing 7v7 or 8v8, and last approximately 30 - 40 minutes.
- 2 - 3x a week, 60-90 minute practices (approximately) Boys will practice and host games at the Palidin Center field. Girls will practice and host games at GFMS.
- 6 - 10 officiated games, plus two tournaments

- Equipment needed for boys team: lacrosse stick, mouthpiece, gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads (new rule NOCSAE standard), protective cup, cleats, helmet
- Equipment needed for girls team: lacrosse stick, mouthpiece, protective eyewear
5/6 Teams
Our 5th/6th grade teams will continue practicing fundamentals while integrating more complex skills and drills. Players will learn more advanced team strategies to apply to this higher level of competition. This group of players will experience practices, officiated games against neighboring towns and two tournaments. Games are usually played on full sized fields, playing 10v10 for the boys and 12v12 for the girls, and last approximately 40 - 50 minutes.
- 3 - 4x a week, 60-90 minute practices (approximately) Boys will practice and host games at Camarda Park. Girls will practice and host games at GFMS.
- 8-12 officiated games, plus two tournaments

7/8 Teams
Our 7th/8th grade teams will continue practicing fundamentals while integrating more complex skills and drills. Players will learn more advanced team strategies to apply to this higher level of competition. This group of players will experience practices, officiated games against neighboring towns and 2 - 3 tournaments. Games are usually played on full sized fields, playing 10v10 for the boys and 12v12 for the girls, and last approximately 40 - 50 minutes.
- 2-3x a week (1-2x a week during modified school season. We work closely with the modified school team to avoid any conflicts. We encourage all our 7 / 8 players to commit to both teams. Our CRYLAX season begins several weeks before modified and ends several weeks after modified), 75 minute practices (approximately) Boys will practice and host games at Camarda Park. Girls will practice and host games at GFMS.
